Interpreters Turn Historic Corner: A Panel Discussion on Unionization of VIs

Our workshop is Saturday June 1, 2013 from 9:00 am to 11:00am, please plan to arrive no later than 8:45, as its a new location and you want to make sure you get coffee, bagels, and good seats! 

We will begin promptly at 9 and (0.2) CEU's will ONLY be awarded to those who arrive up until 10 minutes after start time and stay till 5 minutes before end time. This is the CMP policy, not SDCRID, please be professional, and arrive on time. 

This exciting panel will give attendees insight into the organizing process, the interpreters who organized and the impact on the profession. 

This panel will be conducted in spoken English, if you are in need of interpreting services, please email us by May 17th to request. Our General Membership Meeting and Elections will be conducted in ASL (no interpreters provided).

Been hearing the buzz lately about RID's Board, who's in, who's out? or something about the Deaf Advisory Council and their concerns? Perhaps something about the IDP complaints to the Diversity Council?  who's important in the dialogue and what the heck is going on ??? Chair of the Deaf Advisory Council is be joining us to discuss the latest news. Come and find out! 

All of this will be discussed at our General Membership Meeting immediately following this workshop which includes our elections of officers. The meeting will be from 11:15 till 1:00pm. Membership renewal will be open during that time and you can sign up for your 2013-2014 dues at that time if you would like. Or, you will be able to sign up online anytime after June 1. 

Our elections are an important part of our member run organization and we ask you to please come and vote. A slate of those running was announced May 2. If you are a member and want your vote to count!  

This event is FREE to members if you pre-register by Tuesday May 28th, 5:00pm. After that, everyone will pay $10. SDCRID will provide refunds up until May 17, all requests must be in writing and sent to PDC@sdcrid.org
