Medical Interpreting 101
Presented by Michael Calzo Sullivan
The purpose of Medical Interpreting 101 is to leave you more knowledgeable and confident in the domain of medical interpreting.
This workshop will provide insight into linguistic challenges that are unique to medical interpreting and will offer translation strategies. We will cover many logistical and practical considerations such as where medical interpreters work, types of assignments, scheduling, legal considerations, and special populations.
This workshop will attempt to empower new to newish interpreters with the tools they need to be effective. We will also talk about the joy (yes, joy) of medical interpreting.
