Mentoring Workshop
Saturday, Nov. 19th, 2016
10am-3pm
Deaf Community Services Community Room

A strong mentoring program is an important asset for any interpreting community and we are excited that SDCRID's Mentoring Program will be starting back up in early 2017! If you are interested in being a mentor or mentee in the program or want a taste of mentoring, this introductory event is for you! Both Deaf and hearing interpreters are welcome and Deaf community members are invited to join as language mentors.

During the morning we will have separate mentor and mentee breakout sessions. Mentors will discuss mentoring techniques and best practices for giving feedback; mentees will explore the art of accepting and applying feedback. These important conversations will help everyone involved get the most from the mentoring experience.

During the afternoon session both groups will come together for a round of "speed mentoring," where mentees will have the opportunity to receive feedback on their work from several different mentors.

Free CEUs for this event are pending. This event is designed for mentees who are not currently enrolled in ITP programs. Students are encouraged to contact their faculty for mentorship opportunities.

Please RSVP (specify mentor or mentee) and contact us with any questions at: mentorship@sdcrid.org

We look forward to working with you in November!
