Carla Izaquirre, Treasurer (email)

Carla Izaguirre, NIC, NAD, EIPA 4+, completed the Interpreter Training Program at San Diego Mesa Community College in 2000 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from San Diego State University where her focus of study was in Human Development. She has been a trilingual interpreter in San Diego since 2000 and became nationally certified in 2003. Carla currently works as a staff interpreter for Network Interpreting Service and is a trilingual interpreter with Video Relay Interpreting. She has been involved in the interpreting field by actively volunteering under the Professional Development Committee which eventually lead her into the Treasurer position with SDCRID.

She is always looking for ways to grow as an interpreter and has been lucky enough to have participated in:

* The 1st Trilingual Conference in Big Springs, Texas, July of 2007.
* Juilliard’s Theatrical Interpreter Training Program, NYC, June 2008.
* The 1st Conference for Latin America Sign Language Interpreters, Bogota, Colombia, July 2009.

Carla is currently attending UCSD’s extension program in Spanish Interpreting/Translating and hopes to one day be certified in all three languages.
